The information requested from you is minimal and is gathered solely to register/maintain you as a Unicorn Crate customer and/or to register/maintain you as a subscriber to the mailing list. The standard information we request when you sign up to Unicorn Crate via our website is as follows: e-mail address, full name of recipient, shipping address, phone number (optional), billing information (credit card number, billing ZIP code, billing country, CVC) (“Personal Information”). *I cannot see your full credit card number, only the credit card processor can.
Unicorn Crate uses this information to process and ship your orders and to keep you up to date with your shipments and occasional Unicorn Crate promotions. We gather no information from you other than the information you voluntarily provide and Unicorn Crate will never sell, rent or disclose any of your Personal Information with third parties for marketing purposes. Unicorn Crate uses industry standard encryption techniques via Shopify and stores all personally identifying information in a secure manner. What do we do with your Information?
Unicorn Crate uses your Personal Information to give you a high-quality customer experience. Your e-mail address will be used as our primary source of communication with you and will send monthly notifications regarding the renewal of your subscription and the shipping and tracking of your monthly Unicorn Crate order. We will also use your e-mail to contact you personally if we find any errors with your account (e.g. invalid shipping address due to typo). If you are signed up to our mailing list, you will receive occasional promotional e-mails from us. If ever you wish to stop receiving these e-mails, there is an 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of each e-mail that you can click to remove your e-mail address from the list. If you leave an item in your shopping cart, but have entered your e-mail address at the start of Checkout, you may receive 1 to 3 e-mails encouraging you to return to the website and complete your sale. You can always unsubscribe from these e-mails by clicking the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of the e-mail. Any concerns whatsoever in regard to this can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do we keep your Information Secure?
Unicorn Crate takes all commercially reasonable precautions to safeguard your Personal Information. We encrypt your credit card details using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology and we store all credit card information in a third party PCI compliant credit card vault. Your Personal Information is only used by those Unicorn Crate employees (currently just me, Naomi, the owner) who need to use the information in order to perform those duties which will assist in our service to you.
Although the precautions above are implemented on our website, security during internet transmissions can never be fully assured. As such, Unicorn Crate cannot guarantee complete security of Personal Information, since this level of security cannot currently be achieved on the internet. Users must therefore accept all risks associated with data-transmission on the internet (and thus on theunicorncrate.com), including the potential interception of their Personal Information while in transit. Unicorn Crate will not knowingly collect Personal Information from visitors younger than thirteen (13) years of age. We encourage parents to talk to their children about their use of the Internet and the information they disclose on websites. Parents are also advised to research and if necessary utilize Parental Control tools to prevent children from submitting information online without parental consent. Changes in Company Structure
In the event of the sale, transfer or merging of certain company assets (i.e. the company itself or parts of the company), user information (including Personal Information) may constitute one of the transferred assets. If required by law, we will notify users of such transfer.
